Planmeca reveals new products in all major categories

For Planmeca, IDS 2025 marks a milestone: 20 years since the company introduced its first digital 3D imaging unit, which has since become a synonym for what Planmeca is best known for. At IDS 2025, the new product launches give IDS visitors a glimpse into the dental innovations over the next two decades – and beyond.

Planmeca’s product portfolio includes tools for a fully integrated and digital workflow, from imaging devices and dental units to CAD/CAM and software solutions. At IDS 2025, Planmeca is introducing new products in all of these categories, expanding and complementing the company’s existing portfolio of advanced digital dental equipment and software.

In extraoral imaging, Planmeca complements its renowned Planmeca Viso® family of imaging units with three new devices: the Planmeca Viso® G1 CBCT imaging unit and two 2D imaging units, Planmeca Viso® 2D Pro and Planmeca Viso® 2D Classic. These new devices will make Planmeca’s cutting-edge Viso technology available for an even broader range of imaging needs and customers.

In intraoral imaging, Planmeca is launching a handheld device, Planmeca ProX™ GO, which will first be made available in the US market. The lightweight and easy-to-use intraoral X-ray device can capture up to 300 intraoral images in one go, i.e., a single battery charge.

Planmeca’s portfolio of dental units will also be complemented with two new models: Planmeca Pro50™ S, which utilises the Planmeca Pro50™ dental unit technology with ambidextrous side delivery, and Planmeca Pro40™, a new generation of side-lifting dental units with innovative features first introduced in the Planmeca Pro50 unit. The Planmeca Pro50 dental care unit also continues to impress as one of the highlights at Planmeca’s booth with its sophisticated technology, genuine adaptability, and exceptional ergonomics.

CAD/CAM solutions are being overhauled with the introduction of the wireless Planmeca Onyx™ intraoral scanner and the Planmeca Creo® X dental 3D printer, both designed to streamline digital dental workflows. Along with chairside and laboratory milling units, Planmeca offers dental practices and laboratories a complete CAD/CAM solution that can be experienced at IDS. The portfolio was recently complemented with a new chairside design software within the Planmeca Romexis® CAD/CAM module as well as a high-performance desktop scanner for laboratories, Planmeca Onyx™ Lab.

Visitors at IDS 2025 can also preview the new Planmeca Romexis® 7 software, which introduces built-in AI tools accessible to all users as a standard feature. These integrated AI tools elevate the usability of Planmeca’s all-in-one software to a whole new level, offering capabilities such as automatic detection and segmentation of dental anatomies, automatic tooth numbering, and an AI-powered virtual assistant. Other software highlights include the recently launched CAD module for restoration design, the Romexis® VR application for viewing 3D images and visualising implant plans in virtual reality, and a cloud hosting service Romexis® Image Cloud.

Furthermore, Planmeca is showcasing the new and improved Planmeca Insights™ solution, which enhances clinic efficiency with actionable data and intelligence from Planmeca equipment. From single devices to multi-site group practices, Planmeca Insights offers real-time information about device status, usage, and maintenance needs.
