Recipients can download and view images at no cost using:
File document attachments such as PDF and MS Word files can now be saved to Planmeca Romexis®. They are visible under the new Attachments tab located in 2D Imaging module.
Several TWAIN sources such as intraoral cameras or flatbed scanners can be configured to work at the same time. To change between sources, the user previously had to access the TWAIN Configuration.
New sources can be added in TWAIN Setup:
The new Optimize for diagnosis function optimizes the selected region of interest for diagnostic tasks. The button is located in the image processing toolbar, and after activating it the user needs to click on the brightest non-filling area in the region of interest that is to be diagnosed for the tool to take effect.
Optimize for diagnosis is a familiar feature to Dimaxis users.
The default folder for exporting all the 2D images of one patient can now be set in Admin Module under Local settings. The Export all option can be selected in Image Browser by right-clicking an image under Table category. When this option is selected, the default folder will be used as an export path in the opening Export dialog window.
With the new release, Planmeca ProMax® 3D users can now place an order for 3D Diagnostix radiology reports and computer-guided surgery solutions directly from the Planmeca Romexis® software.
Using the new 3D Diagnostix order form, Planmeca ProMax 3D users can send their CBCT data, implant plan and impression scanned with Planmeca ProMax 3D to 3D Diagnostix for a surgical guide order. In addition, Planmeca ProMax 3D images can be sent for radiological interpretation. Images sent from Planmeca Romexis are read by a 3D Diagnostix board-certified radiologist for a variety of diagnostic objectives such as pathology findings, implant planning, existing implant evaluation, sinus evaluation and TMJ evaluation.
The new Object Browser is an intuitive tool for adjusting the settings of objects superimposed to the CBCT volume. The Object Browser currently lists ProFace and Soft Tissue (previous Threshold overlay) items.
All ProFace and Soft Tissue objects of the patient are shown as a list below the new 3D Overlay drop down menu. Each item has separate tools for adjusting settings such as visibility in different views, transparency and color. The image browser can also be used to add or edit the object comment.
A set of images from different angles is typically taken during orthodontic treatment evaluation and planning. The profile snapshot from a 90 degree angle can also be used in the Planmeca Romexis® Cephalometric analysis module for analysis or superimposition.
The stacks created with 3D Reslicer Tool can now also be saved to 2D Imaging module. The images will be visible as 2D stacks similar to SmartPan in the Imaging module.
Abutments now have a separate tab in Implant Library and Camlog’s Camlog and Conelog abutments have been added to the library. The following implant and abutment combinations can be used:
To use an abutment, first an implant must be added to plan. An abutment can then be attached to the selected implant using the Implant Library tool. Implant and abutment are moved and rotated as one object. Settings for both implant and abutment are visible and adjustable separately in the properties window.
The size of the generic crowns can now be changed. The width and height can be adjusted by SHIFT+ left mouse drag in the 2D slice views.
New implant manufacturers and implant lines have been added to Implant Library:
In addition, certain outdated Bego models have been removed from the library.
3D Quick Launch now supports export of surface model files (STL) to external software suites. The settings for Quick Launch buttons can be configured in Admin Module.
The combination of a CBCT image, ProFace image and STL file can now be exported with matching coordinates for importing to compatible third party software such as Dolphin Imaging.
The color for measurements and 3D annotations can be set based on their orientation or type. The user can for example define the color for all rectangles or separate colors for horizontal and vertical length measurements. This is especially useful when making e.g. cross measures on cross-sectional slices.
